SUMMER TAICHI: PICNIC BREAKFAST - Manurewa Gardens

Though we started at 8am there were no grumbles - at least not serious ones. There was a wonderfully tranquill atmosphere picnicing amongst the cathedral like trunks of the nearby trees.

We had a great turnout of around sixty attendees from most of our Auckland clubs. A significant number of passer-bys added to the fun by stopping by to watch and even join in the practice.

During the relaxed picnic afterwards we were treated to a few performances by Malisa and Lindsey - interspersed with short talks about where TaiChi came from, Malisa and how the Club started.

This one time event went down so well that many requested we meet monthly for 90mins training every 1st Sunday of the month at 8.30am weather permitting. (See Auckland Branch Timetable)

LET'S TRY TAICHI DAY - Howick

This event was organised by Chenshi Taichicise Centre for fostering fellowship amongst Auckland's Tai Chi Clubs and the promotion of TaiChi as a healthy exercise & life style option to the public - young and old alike. Thanks to the generous support of Counties Manukau Sport we were able to offer this event free to all participants.

This event was a wonderful success. So strong was the spirit of fellowship amongst the 13 attending Clubs (about 250 participants) that rain did not dampen the enthusiasm. The morning was honoured by the surprise attendance of the Deputy-Consul and the Consul of Cultural Affairs from the Auckland Chinese Consulate. Both were keen obervers of the morning' events and obviously enjoyed themselves.

CHIN WOO ATHLETICS ASSOCIATION 6TH ANNIVERSARY - TaiChi Demos
Club Members: Malisa, Lyndsay, Oliver and John

Chenshi Taichicise is a member of "Chin Woo" - an international federation dedicated to the teaching and fostering of Chinese culture (especially the Martial Arts), fraternity and noble human qualities.

This month Chin Woo N.Z. celebrated their Sixth Anniversary at Otahuhu (McAuley College), Auckland with a weekend of competitions and public demonstrations.

CHRISTCHURCH BRANCH OPENING August 2004: (DemoNight/Workshop)

Longtime local, Christchurch TaiChi teacher, Dr. Denis Walker, launched weekly Chen classes this August with the support of Chenshi Taichicise Centre. Members (including Malisa, Kelvin and Monica) flew down from Auckland to help host a Saturday evening DemoNight followed by a one day Chen Workshop.

It was a warm and enjoyable weekend for everybody involved, made all the more so by the heavy-ish snowfall which started during the workshop - the first time Christchurch has had such a dusting for 10 years or so.

This N.Z. first Workshop with Master Zhu was a great success. His easy manner and competent teaching was a winning combination that won over the hearts of everybody attending.

Our three weeks with him rushed by very quickly and his contribution was so deeply appreciated that a group of participants saw him off at the airport.
